My wastepipe seems to be leaking in the back garden. It seems to be leaking at the base - as if the concrete has cracked. I've rang my waste / water cover but they've said as it's not an emergency, I'm not covered.

Is there a way of DIY'ing and fix this problem?

I wouldn't just want to slap anything on top. Need to chisel away at the base of where its concreted and see where its actually leaking from. Be careful in not to break the soil pipe even more!
It looks at the base there is a coupler or a bend, if this is cracked its an easy enough job to replace.

Depends where it's broken/not sealed.

Theplastic is cemented into the clay pipe, which has a widened upper end. It could be the cement, or the end of the pipe, or ...

All you can do is chip away very carefully to see what's going on.

have you checked the drain? as something has got to be causing the backup / overflowing
is the fitting at the bottom the correct one or is it a standard straight coupling cemented on to the soil pipe?

there is a suitable adaptor available if you find 2nd is the case
