In this very cold weather is it advisable to prevent leaks in an unoccupied house by turning the stopcock off and draining the taps but leaving the combi central heating on a couple of times during the 24 hours?

I would leave heating on permanently with the wall stat turned down to about 10°C.

There should be no need to drain the cold water, but you could if you like because IF there was a power cut you would be back to square 1... and prob burst pipes.

No room thermostat but stats on rads. Would having heating on a couple of times per 24 hours not be sufficient?
