Hi,
Sorry for the following daft question. Which order to you do the soffit and fascia in? Do you put the starter strip along the back of the old soffit, fit the fascia and then flex/bend the new soffit pieces in or do you fit the starter strip, then the soffit pieces and then the new fascia? If its the later how do all the soffit bits stay put while you fit the fascia?

Hope the above makes sense!

Fit the fascia - allowing sufficient depth below the existing equal to the thickness of the new soffit.

Only put one row of nails in for now so that the fascia can be bent outwards to aid getting the soffit in.

Fix the u channel against the wall. Slide the soffit pieces in.

Nail the other row of nails into the fascia to fix it properly.

Silicone as required

you fix 'j' trim along the wall.

slot the (hollow) soffit board into the 'j' trim and at 90 degrees to the wall, (in-line looks pants!). fix through the hidden flap into the underlying carcass soffit with self drilling screws.

then fix the fascia snug up to the soffit board.

this is based on a clad fascia system where you have a carcass fascia and soffit or original fascia and soffit in place.
