Hi all.

I have bought a 1977 brick built house in Denmark which I can only visit every 4-6 weeks until we move in 2 years. The house is pretty modern but will be getting renovated slowly as it still has 1970 appliances (green bathrooms etc) but my concern is leaving it empty.

We have friends near by and I have thought about employing their eldest daughter to do a bit of work here and then such as opening up windows on weekends etc, but what I could really do with is some tips on some specific areas which I could ask her to check on or tasks to do on a weekend. The areas i can think of are damp, plumbing and heating (which is wood fire and electric).

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Rich

Hi,

Quiet little town with good neighbours, so very low crime and little chance of squatters.

turn off the electricity at the mainest switch you can find, and turn off the water, preferably at the street (if such a thing exists in denmark) and drain the system.

Open the windows to the ventilation catch if they have them, this way, damp has less chance of occuring, and you dont need someone to open them at the weekends.

How about a few table lamps on a timer socket set at difference time in rooms.
