LED Floor Uplighter with Reading Light

I have one of those floor lamps which has an uplighter and a reading lamp on a flexible arm, these are both LED.

As I was going to bed the other night, I noticed that the reading lamp had a slight glow even though it was switched off. I turned the lamp off at the mains socket and it went away but came back as soon as I switched it on the at the mains.

Is this glow normal ?

Both uplighter and reading lamp work correctly when turned on.

Many electronic switches are powered by a small current through the bulb, which causes this.

LED lamps sometimes can glow with VERY little current, much less than rated current. What this means is that even the wiring itself can capacitively couple enough energy into the "OFF" circuit to give some lumen output.

Solution: Don't buy cheap LED LIGHTS.
