led kickboard lighting

looking at some of these led kickboard lights for new kitchen..just want to 1st fix at moment so prob just run a 1.5mm sw & n/e to the position adj where i will site the led driver..but do you just use a jb to supply/connect to the driver or install a socket ? + is it just a conventional switching arrangement as well ?? maybe on a dimmer or even timed..cheers again + any decent ones to reccomend :)

It depends on how the LED driver connects to the 230v. A wall wart will need a 13A socket.

Re dimming. Most of the cheaper LED sets cannot be dimmed. More expensive LED drivers can be dimmed. but you may need a special dimer.

Re elctrical works in a kitchen. You'll need to notify this before you start. Part P blah blah...
 
Kickboard LEDs are purely decorative, little functional use, so a dimmer would be unnecessary.

Most plinth lights have a plug in transformer/driver. Ideally, you want to wire a switch above the worktop and take the switched live,neutral and cpc down to beneath the units and terminate in a (dedicated )socket. IE mark it so in future any kitchen renovation/renovator knows that this is purely for the LED plinth lights.
You really want a switch above the worktop though.

found some at lighting innovation ebay shop..but the leads are only .5-1.5metres long from the led driver ?? need 3 metres for the furthest! anywhere else do em :)
