LED rope lighting

I wanted to add some undercabinet LED lighting in the kitchen and note some are 240 volt, some 12, some 24 volt, but with the latter I need to hide a transformer. Are there any advantages in using the transformer type?

I also need one short length, maybe 58cm, but most of the 'rope' I've seen advertised isn't cuttable, or if it is it's in one metre lengths. Any thoughts or links to specialist suppliers?

i have used a lot of LED strip from

which is one of many sources

Can be cut into short lengths, multiples of 3 LEDs ( 50mm per section )

Very bright on 12 volt. more than adequate light for under cabinet lighting when supplied with 10 volts and also a much longer life.

I used this which can be cut at specific points, you may need to drill holes to get the supply cable through, or to connect to the transformer. 230v is presumably fine but the strip is flimsy by nature so it made sense to go for lower voltage.

I fitted Lidi Smart LED light strip and managed to put the 13 amp socket and power adaptor under the kitchen cupboards in a way where unless on your knees you will not see the transformer and socket.

But what you can fit where varies home to home, and only you know what will fit.

In a kitchen or other humid area I tend to dis-trust the adhesive backing and use these clips as a back up.
