I have a dilemna re letter box for the door where we have 3 letters box.

numbers 2 was replaced last year with that product:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product...title_srh_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3PHDSW7154N04

I was gonna get an extra 2 to do number 3 and number 4 - but realised that the size is different so can only replace number 4 which is fine for now.

However, if number 3 do break, I will be stuck as the original size of each letter box are 10 in / 25cm in lenght and the the storm guard is 30cm / 12 inch.

have tried that option from Tools Station but that was not suitable

https://www.toolstation.com/letter-plate/p42054

have looked at ironmongerydirect but not luck too.

Any alternative thoughts?

show us the inside of the door please.

Is there a porch or canopy?

Would a 272mm letterplate fit the door? (slot size 221 x 37mm)?

Picture attached - let me know if more needed.

Not sure what you mean by Porch or Canopy - it is the front door to the block a block of flat.

Yes I believe that will bit the door as long as you can screw the letter plate from the plate and not the door. The one from tool station you had to screw it from the door.
as per last picture attached, i need to be able to screw the letter plate / box from the screw plate.
hope that make sense.

Many thanks

If the post simply falls to the floor what’s the purpose of several openings?

Door has been like this since I moved in over 6 years ago -

Are you suggesting that we change the door?

I am only trying to maintain as nicely our lovely building - and I guess have to deal with legacy of what we have... which is 3 letter box...

I meant, is it out of the weather.

You might consider individual external mailboxes fixed to the wall

But you can still get letterplates to fit ten-inch slots, and even 8-inch ones

some are 277mm wide, some less. This one fits an 8-inch slot (195 x 43mm)

But I agree with @foxhole
that's why I asked to see the inside

If you keep three letterplates, there is no point unless you have individual boxes, cages or nets. Some of the wall mounted boxes have slots on the back so you can fix then to a wall. You need lockable ones to prevent interference with tenants' mail.

Seems entirely pointless exercise, seal up outer slots and just use centre .

I like that alternative option! Might be the best in the long run as just one letter box to replace if broke down further.

when you say seal up outer slots, how would you do that? (please bear in mind you are talking to someone with pretty basic / limited DIY knowledge

that could be an option - but 3 letter box outside will clutter the building - and hole will have be filled.

this one look very much like the tools station one and not sure it can be fix as it need to be screw from the interior through the woods

Agreed but that is legacy that we have -

I guess from that exchange, I will have to check other block front door and letters box to see if only one hole or 2 r 3 holes like our front door and see how their letter box look like.

You can get a metal plate made to measure to cover [maake a cardboard template]the outer two and leave a slot in the centre, just needs screwing to door.
