Hi All!

I've just lifted a load of porcelain tiles from a concrete subfloor.

The tiles lifted pretty easily, leaving waves of cement based adhesive attached to the floor.

It's really solid, is there a screed / compound out there that's OK to use over the adhesive in preparation for new tiles?

If you are certain that its a concrete surface below the adhesive then it usually can be scraped off - you can buy cheap scraper at SF (16350) or elsewhere.

Or, you could apply a thin layer of self levelling compound (SLC) but you might be raising the FFL which will perhaps give you knock-on problems with doors etc.

You can head to wickes and purchase some latex floor leveling compound, be sure to remove any large snots from the sub floor and seal accordingly. It's much easier than removing all that old adhesive but Rembrandt your new finished floor will be between 5-10mm higher
