Hi
I’m fitting out my ensuite and have boarded some walls and put hardibacker on others. The whole lot needs tiling, but the plaster board which I’ve also skimmed is about 2 or 3 mill proud of the hardibacker. I’m thinking I either put a very thin coat of bonding plaster on the hardibacker before tanking, or do a thin coat of tile adhesive after tanking when I’m tiling it. Any advice on the best way of doing this much appreciated!

bad idea to skim on new plaster board, best to tile on the raw board.
2 or 3mm can be easy picked up when applying adhesive , apply adhesive to backing and butter the tile back.dont go skimming the backer board.

Thanks. I always thought it’s less likely to destroy the board if the tiles are removed in the future if it’s been skimmed, but maybe that’s wrong
