Hi

We currently have a sink in our bathroom which has a lever at the back of the taps to move the plug up and down since the plug is attached to a screw rod,
however i think that the rod has broken off since the lever does not work and you have to get a knife to take the sink plug out.

Also when the plug is out, the screw bit on the bottom is very short?

How can i fix this?

common fault with pop up wastes is numpties who insist on pulling the rod up.

correct use push plug down to engage, push rod down to disengage SIMPLE

now rant over on to your problem

first establish if main rod (vertical) is still conected to plug rod (horizontal) if it isn't reconnect them

if it is then the plug should have a screw and nut, undo the screw and adjust it until the plug pops up when you push rod down, when you have that set right, then wind the nut up to bottom of the plug and tweek it up tight. put plug back in and all should be ok again

Hi

thanks for your reply, i think that the rod rests on a lever since the leaver at the back of the taps, when you move it up and down, moves a rest inside where i think the rod should sit, that is down the plughole

vertical rod goes through sink and should make a joint with horizontal rod, which in turn should pass through waste, so that when you push down the rod it makes the plug end rise, so pushing the plug up
