when i was reversing my car inside a mechanics garage today i rubbed bumpers with another car marginally scratching their colour coded bumper. If the owner decides that they want to pursue this, who is liable, myself or the garage, only superficial damage done, took photos on my phone so shouldnt come to this anyway.

Purely guesswork this but I don't think you should really drive your car into the mechanics garage as you'd be liable.....if the mechanic drove it would be covered by their insurance maybe? Interested to hear the outcome!

Wouldn't the mechanic have to accept liability for allowing a customer to drive vehicles on their premises?

thanks for the replies, havent heard from the owner, damage was actually really minimal, bet garage gave it a quick t cut.
