Hi trying to get rid of this from our outside house wall. I think it’s lichen and it’s spreading over a large area I tried Wet & Forget which didn’t work. Currently scrubbing with domestic moss killer which is better but very time consuming. Would I be better getting a specialist company in or using the power washer? Was worried the power washer might damage the wall.

By soaking the wall, pressure washing will surely create the conditions for more moss, and might well damage the brick/pointing. I found out, by chance, the best way to remove moss from a concrete path after tipping soil on it, which removed access to moisture and air, and it just died off, but I'm not sure that is practical for a wall. I would leave it until a really dry spell in summer and then treat and brush it, OR get the hole thing repointed.

Blup

If it's lichen, I'd gently suggest you might want be grateful you have clean enough air for it to live, and find something more important to worry about!

If I don’t need to worry about it I’ll be happy just didn’t want it spreading over the whole house
