hi, how do i lift the floor ,it is big sheets of wood interlocked(tounge & groovy).i have cut a hatch using a circular saw but want to get right up to the wall to get to radiator pipes.
ta
that would be a chuffing expensive hole, Pensdown!
lor, you dont need to get right up to the wall for the rad pipes - unless there is a joist running parallel to the wall If this is the case, I would remove the entire board, cutting along the grooves - near the wall, the grooves will simply snap off when you lift the other end (wouldn't like to use a jigsaw or padsaw here, in case of cables). When re-laying, screw the board back down. Apply something flexible between the boards when relaying - this will stop them squeaking. Something like silicone sealant would do the trick I would think.
think of all the labour costs lor is saving, of course lor can afford to invest a bit on a great tool. Once lor's done, sell on ebay back to me at a knock down price. Simple economics
On a more serious note, I'm not sure if lor can cut along the grooves as it sounds like 2400 x 600 chipboard sheets and without a skill saw set to the right depth, as you know it's almost impossible to cut by hand
