"Light Duty" joist hanger?

I am creating a new ceiling using 6" joists. I am looking for timber to timber joist hangers, and found this :

The joists will only be taking the weight of two layers of plasterboard, so are these good enough?

No problem if it's just a ceiling.

Thank you. Can the joists be butted up against the ledger, or do they have to be notched in?
