Lighting Circuit Fault

While decorating in my dining room I knocked the light fitting hanging down from the ceiling. This caused a spark and the light went out. Also at the same time the lights in the utility room, dowsnstairs toilet and the halogen spotlights in the kitchen also went off. I went to the garage to check the trip switches and found that none of them had been activated. I have tried resetting all switches but still no power to the lighting circuit.
Anybody got any ideas what to check next.

Most likely you've just pulled the wires out of the loop-in rose which supply the other lights. Turn off everything and have a look. The Wiki here has some good diagrams, but it will probably be obvious what has come undone from where.
