Hi,

I need to do some repointing on my house. Built in 1925 brick cavity wall construction.
When I have done this previously I have either used a bag of cement and sand and mixed it myself or used a bag of pre mix.
The issue has always been the colour never matches the original mortar! Original mortar is creamy and due to the age of the house would this be lime based?

Here are some pics of my walls:

What I am looking for is what to use (modern cement based, or lime based) for pointing and replacing a lintel

A quick search brings up Cornish Lime who sell a whole host of mixes, prices look reasonable.
Not sure how much I'd need, is there a way to calculate based on M2 or areas to be pointed?
I was not planning on doing the whole house, just the areas I need to repair.

Question is do I need Coarse Putty, Fine Putty or Cornerstone Dry Mix (Coarse or Medium) and then it binding options NHL2, 3.5 or 5.

Thanks

Could it be a mix of lime and cement that is lightening the colour?
