I see that some people install a section of linear drainage on a house front door threshold, to resolve the problem of DPC-against-disabled ramp. But if you do this, where does the water go? do you just let it come out below ground at the bottom of either end of the linear drainage?

You can do that or alternatively drain it back into the drainage system. It depends on what the external floor finishes do. You question will be better anwered if you ask a specific question ie what are you trying to do?

A surface drain is only required if the path is sloping towards the door.

In which case it should be connected to a near-by drain or add some pipe to take the water away to a small soak-away
