Lintel

My front door has a lintel on the inner wall but not on the outer wall, is this a problem? House built around 1960 - not of the other houses on the street appear to have one?

Are lintels only needed on load bearing walls and the load bearing wall is the inner one - is that right?

.... only if the bricks are down on the floor rather than still up above the door

Its common.

It sometimes is an issue when door frames are replaced - which is a good time to fit an external tray lintel

Otherwise, don't worry about it
