Hi,

I recently replaced and moved a light fitting.

Whilst looking at the setup, I noticed the the live cable coming from the 3 gang light switch is just a single cable with no outer sheath (i.e just a live cable has been removed from a t&e). this doesn't seem very protective.

The light switch is wired similar to this: https://www.flameport.com/electric/...ing_switch_connections_garage_loft_3gangs.png

Should I get this cable replaced, and just use the live from a t&e? As it is just replacing an existing cable, is this something I can do myself or do I need to get someone in to do it?
If I can do it by myself, do I just cut the unused cables at the end of the t&e off?

Thanks!

If it is as you say, then not right.

However, there are single wires that are insulated and sheathed.

If you do redo it with T&E, don't cut off the unused wires.

What do I do with the unused neutral cable ends? Just terminated them in a block?

I might get the single sheaved cable just to keep it neat though!

Yes, just make sure they don't touch anything.
The earths should, of course, be connected to the other earths.

Ok.
