Hi, my first post here! And dare I say, my first house and house DIY!
We are looking to remove the brick surround and if possible open up more of the fireplace to flush fit in a bioethanol stove - we think this is a straight forward job (based on the old property listing photos below) but curious on your thoughts.

The current owners don't use the fireplace other than a big candle just for display.
