Hi i have a single lnb at the moment on my sky dish which is broken and i would like to know if i can use a quad lnb on said dish .

Quite probably, what kind of dish do you have, LNB's usually have universal fittings.

Yes no problem. Just make sure it is one designed for a sky dish (due to the sky disk being a different shape)
When Sky+/SkyHD is installed the single LNB is replaced with a quad model.
