Hi
My floorboards squeak. In order to screw the chipboard down I need to locate the floor beams. Whats the best tool to do this with? There seems to be a lot of them on the market. Is it a case of you get what you pay for? Cheers, Mike in Mansfield

You should see the nails head if you look very carefully then use screws very close to the nails so you don't hit any pipe or cable. The most common problem with T&G chipboards noise is because they are not glued. The oldest trick you could try first is to use talcum powder in the joints and see how it goes. Sometime hitting the nails deeper with a nail punch can help. I use a cordless drill with a chipboard screws for this
