Locked Bathroom Door

Hi, one of my kids managed to lock themselves in our bathroom. The lock is supposed to have a safety mechanism where you can use a screwdriver to turn it open from the outside but this does not work. It won't turn fully no matter how much force you use.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can get the door open??

I am not so advanced with DIY so I would be so grateful for any help!!

Can you get a multitool blade in the gap and cut the bolt off?
