I lost my keys, and unfortunately it only had one set when I bought it. Called an auto locksmith out and was surprised by how quickly he got in.. but anyway when it came time to connect to the car to programme the ecu to use the new key, his AD100 kept flashing that my battery was low, even when a jump pack and another car battery was connected to it.. it then wouldn't connect to the ECU. His other instrument wouldn't connect either.

He said it was a rare problem that ford's wouldn't connect like that and my best bet was to recover it to a ford's garage and have them fix the OBD problem and make the keys up.

Any idea if this is a simple fix for me? He did seem to check all of the fuses and I have used OBD before on that car, so watch the revs etc.

Any case, any idea what kind of money I am looking at from ford's dealers?

Ford Focus
52 reg
1.6 Chic
Mileage around 65k

Thanks.

focus is pats gen2. ad100 struggles to code unless you have a working key.

take it to a decent independat autospark with ford ids system.

for info we charge 100 plus vat for 2 new keys coded to car.
