Hoping you can help!

I am just about to start laying some loft boards to use as storage,, however i have hit a snag:

The current joists are 10cm, but the rockwool insulation if approx 30cm, ie 20cm above the joists

Am i best to cross baton to bring the level of the floor above the insulation, or compress the insulation under the boards. If i do the latter, will this affect the insulation properties or cause a airflow/condensation problem?

Crossbatten and compress. xbatten will help spread the load over the joists and the compression is a side effect of boarding out your loft, (ie: you've not got much choice) It won't hurt the insulation properties too much.

use 2x2, or 3x2 on it's side.
