Part of my loft is boarded over insulation.
I've installed some spotlights into the ceiling but not wired them up yet but the connections are raised above the level of the boarding by an inch or so.
I suppose I can either: raise the level of the boarded area with approx 2"x 2" timber (probably about 20 sq m). This is a shame as it only affects 2 spotlights, or, (probably the lazy and unsafe way) drill a large hole so that the conncections are exposed then try and locate a form of cover to protect them. The wiring will be fixed under the boarding.
Am I right in assuming that the first option is the only way to go.
Many thanks
