Loft hatch

Any one know where i can buy a large loft hatch 810x610mm. Ive looked every where. Searched the net. Tried making one, but im not very good with that sort of thing. Any help would be great. Thanks.

I'm sure ive seen them about that size in B + Q. Plastic outer frame that screws between the joists and a moulded plastic insulated hatch.

I was in the B n Q in eastkilbride. All the coul offer me was 720x560. They said this was there largest size. Will give another store a try. Thanks for the reply.

if it were me, i'd probably buy one from screwfix (530 x 700 mm - £28.50) and build a frame to fit this, and fit your new frame in your exisiting opening.

You can fabricate a door yourself. Use MDF or plywood.

I tried to make my own. But it turned out quite crap. Also the actual loft hatch/opening that we have isnt square. its a about 10mm off at one side.The hatch that was on it was a push up. But when we moved in that got tossed in the skip, coz i thought i could buy one that size. its now getting cold at nite so i really do need one to keep the cold air out. Thanks for all the help. Will keep you posted on how i get on.

Hold the wood onto the hole somehow, and draw around the hole. You'll probably need a helper!
