I'm getting ready for my first winter in my new house, and have discovered the loft is seriously short of insulation. In the older part of the property, which was built in the 1920s, the ceiling joists are only 300mm apart

I had been planning to lay Space Blankets, but the company websites says these are 370mm, designed for 400mm gaps. Would squeezing them into the space available negate any insulation benefits of laying them...and if so, are there other options on the market I should be considering...I'd rather have a Space Blanket style product to avoid the hassle of handing glasswool and itching my way through the rest of the day! many thanks, Paul
