Hi All
I have just bought a lovely Victorian terrace- or it will be when I've sorted it. One of my first jobs is to replace the roof (proper job, new battens, sarking felt, original slates plus a few new ones etc). After that- loft insulation. I would like to think about using something other than glass fibre (takes loads of energy to make, and nasty to install). But does anyone have any experience with hemp or wool? I have prices/m2, and know that wool is expensive, but what about installation and performance?
I do have existing insulation (possibly vermiculite in the main house, and defo glass fibre in the outrigger) so will just lay over the top. Any comments on vapour barriers as I intend to go up to 270mm?
Many thanks in advance
