Hi,
Without going into why, i have a property that has no loft insulation.
The property was build in the 1870's and the loft itself has joists with 30cm gaps. The ceiling is hung from the old building ceiling with roughly a 20 cm hang.
My question is, what is my best approach to installing loft insulation and what types? So far ive come up with;
1. Both layers blanket
2. First layer between joists: loose fill, Second layer over joists: blanket
3. Full 270mm of loose fill
Also, what are the thoughts on risk of condensation between the old ceiling and the hung one?
