Hi, im looking into converting my loft space into a play room / computer room. Ive (hopefully) attached a pic to show you what im working with. Plans are to fit new joists on top of packers, theres a supporting wall so the new joists wont be full length of the span. Ill be needing to cut the 2 roof ties out though, but wondered if the new walls built on the new joist will be adequate structural replacement for this? Also, I believe its ok to cut out the wood that crosses the existing ceiling joists so i can fit the new ones? Any help appreciated. Cheers. Nick
