Never heard of these

Any one have any experience of using these - from the pictures it looks like a number of packs would be needed to do the whole attic - so maybe a bit expensive

Presently only part boarded the attic and where ive boarded theres only one normal layer of insulation around 100mm I guess

Thanks for any ideas

They work but they don't distribute the weight as evenly as new battens on top of the existing joists would do.

Thanks for the reply - that would mean quite a lot of new timber then I guess

Will price up

Thanks

Will price it up after having a search on the forum - I know these type of questions have been asked again and again

Anybody know if you should have to put like ventilation holes in the new floor for air circulation??? Any sort of regulations for such a thing

And do you think loftcaps fitted over existing down lighters and then insulation laid over the top would be safe in such a circumstance

Thanks again

This particular query is posted at least a couple of times a month, just scrolling through you will find several, some with exhaustive answers!

Surely you're adding a layer or two of additional insulation so you won't have a void to ventilate? Otherwise why would you bother adding the battens or stools to create a raised floor? Even if you had a void it would just be open at the edges anyway.

Assuming you're adding additional insulation just keep your ventilation at the eaves clear.
