Was hoping for some advice on a bit of a dilemma on my loft conversion

We've got the steels in, joists are in between the steels. However in the eaves area, behind the joists, i want to run joists from the steel right upto the lowest point of the pitched roof so the entire floor is one level, including behind the purlin wall that will be built later.

I was hoping to rest the joists on the timber wall plates. However those wall plates are about 100mm lower than the bottom of the new joists. Ive included pics of this.

Would it be possible to screw 100mm timber peices on to of the existing wall plates and screw the new joists into this?

Any advice is much appreciated

Why are you putting joists there, you're surely building a wall up from your steel to the purlin so that space will be outside of the room?

Theres a couple of reasons. I may be able to keep sections of it open as the inspector has advised due to the purlin beam being supported by uprights at 600 centres this may be possible. Hes a private inspector so is a bit more lenient.

Also im having drawers and storage built into that area so want it all on one level across entire room.
