Loft Wardrobe

I am currently planning to create a custom wardrobe that will be in the loft room. However i have a problem as in my loft there are structural beams that will interrupt the top of the wardrobe. Has anyone got any suggestions that could help get around this problem.

bring the top off the doors to perhaps 35mm below the timbers to allow a 50mm frame for the doors to close on
also allow for any covering between door top and rafters

Incorporate the beams into the wardrobe, smooth and stain/paint them to match
