Log Mantel

I want to make or buy a log mantel shelf. I have searched on the internet, but can't find anything.

Has anybody else done this and know where i can get one from and know the best method to install it.

The mantel shelf needs to be about 1m in length.

well, you could go along to a timber mill (a lot of timber merchants/larger builders merchants have them) chat to the superviser and scrounge!
it does work I promise!
