what is the point in paying somone to help people cross the road at a traffic light controled crossing. what a waste of money.

Young children, even up to 10 yrs plus are like sheep. If one of them decided to run across the road, the chances are one or two more would follow without thinking, little green man or not. I see this most mornings whilst out with the dog. At least with a lollipop person, there is someone to control the situation.

Plus they can get tickets issued to people who ignore them. that's why they have a bit of black on the lollypop (they write the numberplates down there with chalk).

If you drive past when they tell you to stop, you're getting a ticket!
