Give it to the Jocks .. From Falkirk - a Plaice in Scotland ;) - This spectacle beats the Londun eye.... Rain clouds as well, just to 'rub it in'.

A fair amount of 'captain Kirk' went into this piece of engineering.

That is a brilliant piece of engineering. Functional too, not like the london eye . . .

Wonder if it leaks . . .

Aye ye got tae hand it tae us Scots, we have some gazzy gear and made some great inventions....Irn Bru, Haggis, Tennents Lager and ginger hair to name a few

Scotty's final task before suffering that final 'beaming' - Plugging the leaks - Now everyone knows who did it... But not how ... ;)

In what way is it not functional?

The london eye wasn't nessecary. They built it because they could, because they wanted to throw some money about.

This, however, is solving a problem, getting boats from up the hill to down the hill, and vica-versa.

But only in the same way that theatres, cinemas, and theme parks are not necessary, it makes a shed load of money.

Couldn't even bother to take the backlash out of the drive .. stop go stop go :D :D :D

BTW The old pix gave this some width ! :D

Of course, some browsers 'Fit to window width' at a click of squeaker. ;)

Great piece of engineering that in Falkirk!
London Eye's great too, for a fraction of the cost of the Millenium Dome (now that's a waste!) and actually good for tourism and revenue. :D

The only good thing to come out of London is the M4 - ;)

I heard it has the equivalent of about 10 washing machine motors? It is well balanced, so takes very little energy to move it.

Only when directly opening an image file - not when they are embedded in a page, as they are here via [I.MG] [/I.MG]...
