Do they exist? I have a load of hinges to fit and #8's are sitting too proud while a #6 is too small.. need them as long as poss so 2" or more but pref 3".. zinc/stainless finish pref.

Possibly not. #7s were often for 3in hinges into 1-1/4in casings, hence 1-1/4in (or 1-1/2in) being about the longest you normally came across. If you can't get appropriate screws have you considered re-countersinking the hinges to accommodate #8s?

Incidentally, why do you need longer screws? Longer than about 1-1/4in and you are into the masonry

Thanks for the replies. I need the length as these are to attach flaps on an island breakfast bar. The holes have been overdrilled with me faffing about plus i want to be sure of the stregth on the hinge side if eg. someone falls against it when open. Guess i'll have to source a metal countersink and go that route. Patience!

fill in the holes with matchsticks wood shaved to size or dowels then refit

Love the dowels idea.. will do that i think.. thanks as ever :)

find the dowels re-drill to that size glue in then pilot with a 3.2mm drill assuming they are beech or hardwood dowels

Cheers, already have everything to do that job so just a case of getting round to it now. It's one of those jobs that seems to get longer all the time..
