Hi

Need expert honest advice before purchasing carpets. We are carpeting the upstairs (4 bedrooms, landing and staircase). We have found a carpet which we like, it's Regency Satisfaction in a dark brown. We would be putting this same carpet down everywhere. We had a carpet fitter come across tonight (partner of a friend) and he advised against a long pile carpet on a staircase, saying it will become flat in a short space of time. This has set us back now as we really like the Regency Satisfaction and means we now have to start looking again.

The Regency is a fairly long pile carpet (as far as an untrained eye knows). Am I doing the wrong thing getting this carpet?

We want this carpet to last a long time, spending quite a bit of money on the underlay as well (Cloud 9) to give it a luxurious feel.

Look forward to your comments.

Thank you.

it will flaten more than a short pile but with a good vacuum every couple of days and regular PROFFESIONAL cleaning it will stay looking good. The carpet you have selected is not a bank breaker so maybe you might want to buy extra and have the stairs changed in a couple of years if your worried?
