My wife and I recently purchased a new property (I think it dates back to the 1920s)… Anyway, can anyone identify what kind of fireplace this is (or was) and is it something we could bring back and decorate (place fake logs in a basket, that kind of thing)? If so, would we need a specialist to do this or could we do it?
One other thing, as you can see from the images below, the wall in our hallway is rounded (I like this tbh), but at the bottom, it is a bit out… Would a good plasterer be able to sort this or again is it something I could attempt?
I was a heating installer many moons ago so I have some DIY skills if that helps.
