Good morning,

Possibly a very basic question but have not com across this tap style before.

New bathroom fitted a couple weeks ago. We have a Vellamo Cool Touch Thermostatic Rigid Riser Shower purchased through an online retailer.

Noticed yesterday the cover of tap that diverts to either the handheld or overhead shower is very ricketty and has about 3-4mm gap - pretty sure this is new. I presume it needs to stick to the faucet mechanism somehow at the end.

The tap still works fine, so quite reluctant to do anything to it that might make it worse. It does feel like this might just continue until it breaks though.

I can’t work out how to actually remove the cap on this - lots of videos showing how to replace cartridges all start with removing the cap but this one doesn’t actually want to come off all the way. Does anyone have any experience with these or advice?

It doesn’t, it looks similar to some radiator valve caps I’ve see but feels like quite brittle plastic so very reluctant to just pull it off in case something cracks!
