Noticed 2 tiles missing from the top of the bay window. Found them in the shed so assume previous owners put them aside.

A third was hanging half out, so I pushed it back up. A lot of dry sandy mortal dust fell out.

No internal leaks or damp.

Original bay, 1920's ish.

I'm asked a few local companies to take a look.

I know nothing about roofing and would appreciate your thoughts about how you'd fix it, and a rough idea of effort, so I have half an idea when people quote.

Thanks in advance

5 minute job. minimal charge should apply.
I would try and send pictures to whoever you ask. a good guy should be able to quote without attending.

Thank you.

Is it as "simple" (ignoring access) as lift the flashing, brush out old mortar, apply new and reseat tiles with new mortar etc?

If you reached it to push a tile back in place, then you should be able to refit the missing tiles. They normally just latch/hook onto the timbers, with every few nailed.

The mortar was probably just what was put under the tiles, the underside, when the place was built - no need to replace it.
