Hi. I have a Vokera Excel 80. When we brought the flat (8 years) there was no user guide or anything so I have no paperwork to follow. The boiler has been working fine, until recently. I noticed there was no pressure showing. I ran the hot water and it worked fine. When I turned my central heating dial that worked too. Thought no more of it until this morning when there is not hot water. I turned the central heating on and the pressure bar increased. As soon as I did that, the hot water started working. Obviously I don't want to have to turn my heating on every time I want a bath, but I have no pressure in the boiler. Any ideas on what I need to do?

Boiler needs to be serviced as per the manual, which can be downloaded from Vokera website (discontinued products)

The boiler has been serviced regularly although admittedly it is probably due for one. Aside from that I wondered if there was anything I could do

You need to let in water that can be done by opening the valve fitted to the right hand pipe to allow water to enter the boiler via a removeable link to one of the two pipes on the left.

If your boiler was getting a proper service, your system pressure would not rise as suggested in your post.

An operational check, usually carried out with boiler case intact, is not a service. Boiler serviced regularly is a popular misconception often based on someone calling to 'service' the boiler but all it gets is an operational check
