Yesterday I downloaded a Met Office weather gadget and when I left the computer the icon was there in the sidebar. Today I cant even find the sidebar! Where's it gone?

Which browser ? Opera, FireFox, IE7 ??

<View>
<Toolbars> or <Sidebar> or <Explorerbar> Or something similar... Then see menu... 'Met Office Weather gadget' or similar.

Vista! Daughter found my sidebar but the weather gadget and clock that were there have gone. Tried to download it again and got one message up saying that I already had the gadget and this was replaced by another message saying that the down load would replace the google sidebar with another. Didn't try that because I wasn't sure what might happen. Searched all programmes and did the google search without success. Where now?
If you open the sidebar, at the top there is a little + sign. Left click this which should open up your gadget gallery, then double click what you want, or are you saying they have disapeared from your gadget gallery?

To the best of my knowledge it was never in my gadget gallery and to be honest, I didn't even know of the latters existence until I followed your instructions,so thanks for that.
I downloaded the gadget following instructions from a computor mag. It worked fine on the day but as I said in the initial posting, I couldn't find it next day. I am probably wrong, but I get the impression that I have two sidebars, the one with the downloaded gadget and a fancy clock and the other my daughter uncovered for me that contains the gadget gallery. Could this be possible, bearing in mind that the message that I already had the weather gadget appeared when I tried to download it a second time.
PS Just tried to download the gadget again with the same result. Message says I already have the gadget and am trying to replace the google sidebar

Still trying to access this gadget. If, as the message says, I replace the google sidebar, will it have gone for good or would it be recoverable.
