Hello All,

After some advice please. Have just moved in to our new home and noticed a horrible loud noise when we use the shower. Its a very loud humming/screeching/buzzing type sound and it usually happens shortly after turning the shower on (we have 2 pump fed showers in the house and it happens when using either of the showers). The noise can last anything from 1-2 seconds up to 30-40 seconds and then stops. I had a look in the loft while the noise was happening and it seems to be coming from the water tank / water tank pipes.

Any ideas on what needs done to sort this?

Many Thanks.

it's probably the fill valve - or rather, the 'jumper' inside it.......what happens as the tank empties and refills the rubber washer starts vibrating, which causes a water ripple across it's surface area.
A new washer, or maybe a new Part 2 valve should cure it - but get someone up there to determine it is actually the tank that's noisy!
John :)
