My van has been in the garage 4 times recently, after failing to start up after being parked up outside customers houses. Last two occasions RAC have flagged up low fuel pressure at 12 bar. Garage have changed a fuel line and a pressure sensor but the same thing has happened again. I have given up on the garage now and lost trust in their competence. Can anyone throw any light,
on what could be the problem?

You are looking for around 150 bar on these, your fuel pressure is much too low.
The obvious things are fuel lines and the filter - if these are ok it looks like you need a new high pressure pump, unfortunately.
In situations like this I'd look for a Bosch diesel specialist or a Nissan dealer - someone to fall back on!

I will second Johns comments, diesel specialists usually know what they are doing, sadly many dealers don't as they don't get enough experience of these problems. Find a good diesel specialist.

In tank lift pump or check valve failure?.

Would be odd for the high pressure pump to only fail when stood, sounds like the supply to the pump is possibly siphoning back into the tank or air leak in the filter swirl pot if fitted?.
