I hope to install a ground floor loo with the outlet coming out throutgh the wall some 2.5m from an existing plastic soilpipe.

1. is there a problem with a horizontal (fall 18mm/m) soil pipe so close to the ground level.

2. can a branch fitting be inserted into a vert soil pipe without dismantling the sections above? Is there a fitting/collar that can be slipped up/down the pipe to join the bottom of the branch to the pipe below?

1. Fall, 1:40 is usual rule of thumb, so you might not get enough fall over that distance. If you cant get the branch in any lower down, at least fit an access point so you can clean it out if need be.

2. Slip collars are available.

Work is notifiable under building regs AFAIK.

forget 1:40 on a branch less is fine for that short distance ;)

Have you considered creating a new stub stack, linking to the existing drain underground?

.......Probably just me, bit I find long horizontal soil pipes on display a bit of an eyesore....
