I am assembling a Macdee cistern which will be a low level bottom feed installation. The instruction sheet (with diagrams) is very vague on some issues, and in particular I would like advice as to where the large rubber washer is supposed to be placed.
There is a fairly large plastic nut that screws on to the bottom of the flushing mechanism assembly (an intregal threaded tube) to hold it tight against the base of the cistern, and presumably the washer is needed to stop water from leaking from the very bottom of the cistern. So, should this washer be positioned inside or outside of the cistern (and why should it make a difference?)?
I'll try to upload some pictures shortly.
