ive just fitted a bath/shower ( http://www.plumbworld.co.uk/ceramica-1700mm-8-jet-1362-17006 )

we had the 2 22mm copper pipes coming up from floor, which we cut and put isolation compression valves on each, then tacken a piece of 22mm up off it and T'd off to a 15mm piece for shower

from both the 22mm and 15 mm we have used the plastic hoses to go to both the bath taps and the mixer unit on the wall ( pipes up cavity wall )

now the pressure isnt as good as it was before, what will be reducing the pressure in how its setup ?

and whats the easiest fix ?

The hoses will have a reduced bore and so constrict flow, either try and obtain hoses with a larger internal bore or best solution is to "hard pipe".

Keith.

im now on my second set of flexible hoses, first one i got were the metail braided ones from bnq

i then took them back and got the white plastic ones that are a bigger bore, but im getting same result from smaller hoses

ye ive just measured the internal diameter of the pipe and its similar to the hoses i have just taken back, GRRRR this is now really frustrating, wanted to avoid doing it in copper really, with not having the room to get behind and solder.

do u know of a plac ethat sell the push on connectors with bigger bore ?

Have you got enough room to pipe incopper ,but using push fit fittings instead of sweating joints??

ive added a few posts above..

ahh wot do i do with all my fittings now cos thats £40 i spent, didnt want to spend more on copper fittings then find the bath taps are restricting it anyway or the valve is restricting it ?

well iv ejust been down and spent more money on different isolation valves to get the maximum 22mm bore,

but im still getting no more pressure out of my bath taps

i keep spending money now and not getting any improvement,

the plastic pipes we are using and full bore also so theres no restriction there, any suggestions from now on

just done another test, and taken the connection off the bath taps, and held hose over a bucket, the water came cushing out so it shows the problem with the taps are not putting out the pressure !

With 22mm pipes I would expect both hot and cold are gravity feeds, so the available water pressure may only be about 0.2 Bar.

Restrictive pipework does not reduce the pressure, but it will reduce the maximum flow.

Are your taps and shower mixer designed for low pressure gravity feeds, or higher pressure mains fed systems?
High pressure taps often have very restrictive internal waterways which will only deliver a trickle of water if connected to a gravity system.

im not sure what they designed for mate,

although what you are saying would seem to be true for our setup. as when we took the taps off and aimed water int oa bucket the pressure was far more than going through the tap.
